Everything can be art - it's just a matter of how you approach it. This piece of artwork is a repetitive pattern of can tops. Each one of the can's is painted in a different colour to create some variation - and the overall effect is eye-catching, which is really what art is all about. Does it get your attention? Does it make you think? Hmmmm, coke can tops on board and in a frame - intereeeeesting!

PRICE: Rp.840.000 (includes the silver wood frame and delivery in the Jakarta area)

MIXED MEDIA TRASH ART

This piece of framed artwork is mixed media trash art and is composed entirely of  discarded toys and bits and pieces. The artwork was then spray-coated in a silver grey finish. This is not your run-of-the-mill piece of artwork as it clearly represents an area of expression that is still in its nascent form, but nevertheless very relevant in Indonesia at present; the growing concern about what to do with our trash. This is one example of how we can utilize trash in a creatively interesting way. It measures 65cm x 550cm, which includes the frame.

PRICE: Rp1.250.000 (includes delivery in the Jakarta area).

Wood "PIKUL" Art wall decor

This particular Wood Art piece is composed of four traditional carved "Pikul" which were traditionally put across the shoulder to carry an array of different things; soto, minyak etc.
The "pikul" are traditionally carved at either end, sometimes representing a dragon, which then imbued the "pikul" with a dragon's strength.
These four examples of traditional Pikul are mounted on eroded wood and look wonderful on the living room wall. Not your usual wall decoration.

Lampu Gantung

This hanging lamp was an interesting find - unusually shaped semi-frosted glass lamp with porcelain base and accompanying gold coloured metalwork.  Not your average, run-of-the-mill lampu gantung found in the shops that specialize in antique-looking lamps. Actually, I have no idea how old it is, but I thought it was worth showing as it is a bit of a curiosity.

THE 1 RUPIAH FRAME

Now this is an appropriate gift, if you think someone needs reminding of the value of 1 rupiah. After all, we all get paid in the millions now, but there was a time when 1 rupiah was actually worth something. The 1 rupiah note in the frame is original (no fakes or copies) and the text below is a brief list of 5 things you could buy in the 1950's for 1 rupiah. In fact some elderly people tell me you could get a lot more than that for 1 rupiah, so this is a conservative estimate. This little frame brings you back to earth..... Price: Rp135.000 each
